Southern was forced to suspend all early morning services on lines between Redhill and Tonbridge due to “poor weather conditions”, with rail replacement bus services laid on. The operator said an overnight cold snap impacted on the lines in such a way as to prevent its trains from being able to conduct power through the tracks. However, the disruption also coincided with a number of incidents on lines elsewhere across the county and its borders.

It is well used, but ageing. Martlets Hall, the corresponding Burgess Hill facility, is being closed with no plan to replace it. Clair Hall is being maintained, but there are no clear long-term plans to revitalise it. The Society therefore seeks the community’s views on Clair Hall – is it still valued? Should it be closed, or re-sited? What facilities are needed for the next 10 or more years? We held a public meeting at Clair Hall on 11 April , advertised it widely, distributed questionnaires across the town and raised the issues via our website, Facebook page and other social media.
Together with its near neighbour Burgess Hill, Haywards Heath is the economic powerhouse of Mid Sussex, growing at a steady rate and providing jobs for many people all over West Sussex – although good road and railway connections mean that many of Haywards Heath’s 25, residents commute to Gatwick and London too. Inevitably a lot of Haywards Heath is modern, and relatively uninteresting – at least compared to some of the many other historic towns and villages in Sussex.
Pevsner described Haywards Heath as “large and quite amorphous” and it hasn’t got any smaller since he wrote. And there probably isn’t any more variety to the town either as thousands of new homes have been built since then too. Haywards Heath history in 30 seconds Until Victorian times, Haywards Heath was a small village which was outranked by its neighbours Cuckfield and Lindfield.

Roman remains and a Roman burial site were found in Roman Road. The name of the town had been thought to stem from the Roman placename Portus Adurni modern Portchester , but this is based on a misidentification of Shoreham-by-Sea as Portus Adurni by Michael Drayton in the 17th century. Indeed, the River Adur, whose mouth has moved many times due to longshore drift and erosion, was also named from this misidentification. The old name, Copperas Gap, for Portslade-by-Sea suggests that the coast was used for the production of copperas or green vitriol, a form of ferrous sulphate used extensively in the textile industry.
The process took over six years and made use of iron pyrite -rich nodules that could be found in the strata of Sussex greensand stone that emerges at this point in the coast. A part-finished assembly hall in Portslade became an Odeon Cinema about when George Coles, one of the Odeon chain’s principal architects, adapted the original design. Portslade-by-Sea was an urban district from the late 19th century to , when it became part of the borough of Hove , later to become part of the city of Brighton and Hove.
Portslade Town Hall is on Victoria Road, and is used as a venue for various functions. Enraght’s belief in the Church of England’s Catholic tradition, his promotion of ritualism in worship, and his writings on Catholic worship and church-state relationships, led him into conflict with the Public Worship Regulation Act While serving as Vicar of Holy Trinity, Bordesley, Birmingham in , he paid the maximum price under the Act of prosecution and imprisonment in Warwick Prison.
Enraght became nationally and internationally known as a “prisoner for conscience sake”. Enraght’s memory by naming one of their new fleet buses after him. Kenealy commuted to London and Oxford for his law practice but returned at weekends and other times to be with his family. About Me I’m a happy, sorted single guy, still with my own teeth and most of my hair: I enjoy movies, music, cooking, gardening, a bit of sport, reading, cars, and spending time with friends and family. I love travelling, but also have to work – so I try to get away at least a couple of times a year as well as the odd weekend away.
I’m not a fan of seeing countries through an air-conditioned sanitised bubble, though – I prefer more basic travel so I really see the country I’m visiting and not just the tourist hot spots. I’m non-scene for the most part, but if I do hit the gay bars I always have a fun night. In general, though, any pub, bar or restaurant with a nice mix of people is where I’m most happy.

More Info TestMy’s servers are located world wide, in locations where a large majority of the worlds popular websites are hosted. Despite any distance users in Haywards Heath can still accurately benchmark their connection here. If you’re testing outside the US or EU or Asia you have to understand that the distance will be a factor as well as international Internet routing.
If your provider has poor peering or there is a bottleneck along your route then your speed test results will suffer. Greater distances result in more chances for your connection to hit a snag along the route. Other speed tests, especially tests offered by your Internet provider try to eliminate routing factors. This can make your connection appear faster than it really is. If you visit many websites in the North America, Europe, Australia or Asia the results returned here will be a more realistic representation of your useable connection.
Truthfully, do you want to know how fast your connection is within your providers network or do you want to know how fast it is to the locations where the websites you visit are being hosted?

Haywards Heath – Haywards Heath is a town in the Mid Sussex District of West Sussex, within the historic county of Sussex, England. It lies 36 miles south of London,14 miles north of Brighton,13 miles south of Gatwick Airport and 31 miles east northeast of the county town of Chichester.
Hosting Open Championship qualifiers and a regular programme of tournaments, the club has set its sights on attracting some of the most prestigious competitions in the land — an ambition wholeheartedly supported by Course Manager, James Bledge. We have been able to make significant improvements to playing surfaces and have been working hard at thinning out rough and refining the cut surfaces. We have been using it as a feeder vessel for top dressing greens and tees to speed up the process, and it has been a life saver.
The DS has transformed the job, saving a lot of back-breaking effort and shaving around two hours off the process. The Rink DS broadcast top dresser, manufactured in Germany and distributed in the UK by Charterhouse, has dual spinners producing a spreading width of up to 12m. Belt and spinner speeds are individually adjustable using hydraulic levers in the cab, giving the operator full control of the output. We also have a conveyor that is easily attached to the hopper which also makes short work of replacing sand in the bunkers.
To create hard, fast links fairways we need to tighten up the top 20mm. He implemented a modification to the hopper, adding vibrators on each side, to help move the wet material down.
